Women’s Resilience and Economic Empowerment Program (WREEP)

Home What We Do Women’s Resilience and Economic Empowerment Program (WREEP)

This program builds resilient women through healing, leadership, entrepreneurship, and economic opportunity. It empowers vulnerable women and young mothers to overcome adversity, restore hope, and achieve sustainable livelihoods.

The program consists of two major initiatives:

Entrepreneurship for Single Mothers

This program aims to empower young single mothers, aged 15–30, who have been marginalized by their families and communities by providing entrepreneurship training and support to facilitate their economic reintegration. It equips participants with the skills, resources, and mentorship needed to launch and sustain their own small businesses. Through a structured, year-long program, participants transition from vulnerable individuals to self-sufficient entrepreneurs, contributing to local economic development and stronger, more resilient communities.

Compassionate Listening

The Compassionate Listening Program was launched in May 2022 with the vision of creating safe and supportive spaces where participants can share their personal stories through compassionate and non-judgmental listening. The program primarily serves girls and young single mothers aged 16–23 who have been affected by family conflicts and domestic violence.

Through guided storytelling, active listening, and emotional support, the program helps participants heal from trauma, rebuild self-confidence, strengthen resilience, and develop healthy relationships. It also equips them with peacebuilding and communication skills, enabling them to cope with challenges, restore hope, and become positive contributors to their families and communities. The program fosters empathy, mutual understanding, and emotional well-being while encouraging participants to support one another on their journey toward healing and personal growth.
